Dreaming with the Dalai Lama

After leaving civilization, it took me to my second night sleeping under the stars to break on through to the other side, and into a completley different frame of mind. I knew it happened when I found myself having a one-on-one with the Dalai Lama, and achieving a total mind-meld with the head spiritual honcho himself. Past reasoning and beyond words......

The above photo is of a spring in the Ichetucknee that I think reflects the special, sacred quality of a spring water boil. I will return to this river many a time in my mind--it is magical, luminous, deeply comforting and full of adventure all at once. The naturalist Archie Carr calls it the most beautiful landscape in the world. I call it Bliss-in-a-Tube.

Spring Fever

We have caught the fever and are soon to embark on the annual Florida Springs camping trip. Knocking off 3 more springs on our list, including the Queen of them all--the Ichetucknee. A 3-hour Tubing Tour down the "Ich", swimming, snorkeling, hiking in Manatee & Fanning Springs and maybe even a side visit to U of F in Gainesville to see if Bliss likes what he sees. Bye-bye civilization, hello peace.
